Voting in Virginia Long-Term Care (LTC) Facilities

Telephone survey of key staff members in a sample of Virginia long-term care facilities (assisted living and nursing homes) to explore how these institutions facilitate voting by their residents. The interview focused especially on how issues of cognitive impairment or dementia are evaluated in relation to voting, and how residents are assisted (or not) by staff in registering to vote and casting their ballots either at the polls or as absentees.
